Occupational Therapy Assistant Schools Near me?

I am 18 and have been out of school for almost a year. I don’t want to got to school for 4 years and have been searching different jobs that I could make a living at and I think I would enjoy being an OTA but I do not think there are any schools in driving distance from my house which means I most likley would have to move. My dream job is to plan childrens parties and have seem many companys that do this but I don’t think I would make a living at doing this so I want to go to school and do it on the side. I was wondering if anyone would help me find a school nearest to me? I live in PA the zip code is 15767 I would appreciate any help… I hope to go to school atleast 3 hours near my home or closer would be great! If anyone want’s to give me any advice on this job feel free.

look for national Occupation Therapy Association (AOTA.org)? on web .
u will find info on the trade.
visit ur local community colleges in areas and find out if they have a course.
if they don’t , contact state’s OT’s site and locate com college near u . pay cash – normally a two yr program.
check salary.com for info of incomes in ur local area.

as for ‘children party planner’ that is a discretionary income item and in most areas now a day ‘discretionary income’ is not in existence. so u may stave the first five yrs.

party planning jobs chicago
I am planning to move to chicago from cali. Need more info on city ex. jobs, housing, party scene ;) ?

I tried looking on the net but all i got was lame info. I want someone who actually lives there to give me their opinion and advice. thanks!

How much do you want to spend for rent/condo purchase, etc? That will determine the type of neighborhood you live in, what you’ll be near, maybe even what job you get. You can find studios for as cheap as $500 or a one bedroom as cheap as $600. Some will be cheap and nice. some will be cheap and … well, cheap. Depends on where you go. Edgewater and Rogers Park have cheap, decent apartments. Wicker Park USED to have cheap apartments but now… forget it!. Try the Chicago Reader website (do a search). They have a form that let you put in the type of apartment you are looking for and the rent range you are seeking and will filter it out for you. Once you see something you like, make note of the neighborhood and go over the the Chicago Police Department website to take a look at crime date. Now, Chicago is a big city and guess what? it has crime! But some places have it more than others. Do your homework on this. But the bottom line is that you don’t have to be afraid in Chicago if you learn to be a big city dweller and don’t do stupid things (don’t go to a “house party” with a relative stranger, know which streets to avoid – that one alley without street lights? probably not a good idea to take that short cut). Be street aware and you’ll be fine.

As for job, again it depends on your profession. There are a lot of new shops opening up on State street and commercial districts are expanding all the time. And many major corporations are still moving their base of operations here all the time.

The party scene is great. People are amazed when they come here to find out that a lot of bars and clubs stay open to 4 a.m on the weekdays and 5 a.m. on the weekends. Clubs open and close here every week so there’s always something to do. We have a whole shytload of live music venues, from rock to blues to hip hop to salsa to you-name-it. Every major musical artist in the world HAS to pass through Chicago. Bruce Springsteen was just here and Lollapalooza is on the way (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Common, Kanye West, Wilco…). Pick your musical style and you’ll find it playing somewhere here.

It’s a great city and gets a bum rap from hick from small towns who can’t handle the pace and aren’t used to being around a city of more than a million people and don’t seem to realize that with that many people there is bond to be crime. They’re scared and shocked when they hear about a murder that occurs on the other side of town! They should just stay home in Tiddleburg, kansas. But if you’re ready for the pace, the people, the big city life, Chicgao is a perfect mix of NYC hutzpah and LA laid back cool. And we have a lake!

party planning jobs in chicago

Ready, get set, go! Start from one end and come out at the other clearing many obstacles on the way on an inflatable obstacle course. Whether you come out quick or slow doesn’t matter. What matters is you have fun during the process. The different obstacles set in an inflatable course are mildly challenging. Some may be a little daunting also – for the lazy and slow ones. But the fit and active ones always love the challenges posed by the obstacles. Those who think that they are active and quick but are actually not, get a real assessment of their agility levels. That’s another fun aspect of the inflatable obstacle courses. By testing our mental and physical agility as well as maneuverability they provide pure enjoyment.

So what obstacles are presented by inflatable obstacle courses? They are numerous and depend on the creativity of the manufacturer. Pop ups, squeeze walls, pillars, crawl throughs, jump throughs, and rock climbing are some of the staple obstacles that are included in a typical inflatable obstacle course. You have to clear them and clear them fast. Climb the ladder, squeeze through the pillars, and slip down the slider to victory.

Isn’t your job like that? Isn’t life like that? We face obstacles everywhere. Even a simple thing as plucking a rose has one obstacle – we must avoid the thorns. Achieving a professional goal has many obstacles – internal and external competition, office politics, and the possibility of lack of recognition. Yet people strive to excel in their professions. In personal life too obstacles present themselves in the form of: lethargy, lack of motivation, paucity of time, and possible resistance from family members. Life is all about clearing these obstacles and moving ahead to achieve the set goals. So is the principle of an inflatable obstacle course. You clear the obstacles and move ahead as quickly as possible. There may not be any prize for doing this, any major recognition, or any pat in the back. You do it for the sheer fun on doing it and may be just a few cheers.

There is no better way to test competitive spirit than with an inflatable obstacle course. For company picnics inflatable obstacle courses can bring out hidden talents in employees. When a low performer at the work place is beating his colleagues at the obstacle courses he is sending out a clear signal. Perhaps he is saying, “I too can perform well”. It is a signal for his boss to find out whether that person is being held back at the work place for some reason that is too big for him to handle. The boss can sort out his problem and allow him to perform with the agility that he exhibited at the obstacle course.

Away from the daily drudgery of all work, company executives and workers would love the opportunity to play on obstacle courses. What is special about this is that they will play with their colleagues, something which doesn’t happen on a regular basis. Apart from providing enjoyment inflatable obstacle courses will promote bonhomie among company employees and create an amicable atmosphere.
