Event Planner – Working in Canada

sweet 16 suggestions?
ok i have a sweet 16 in 6 months, but i want to start planning now,i wanna make this even really big and nice and unique, tell me what do u think about this theme for my party, also u can give me another them and describe what i can do,to make the party really extravagent and nice,ok this is my theme and ideas, im carribean i was born in trinidad soo i think a good idea for my party is to have like a cultural thing, like whatever country you’re from you can wear the colors thats in your flag,i was also thinking like instead of the normal table coverings ,i can put a diff flag over any table, lol my mom says the carribean theme sounds tacky but i like it,if you have something better to suggest feel free
I really like your idea! It’s very creative. When you say “extravagant” do you mean that it’s also somewhat formal? Because if it’s just a really casual, relaxed party I think it’d be a tad pointless to have a nice theme like that.
This may also seem a little too “Super Sweet 16″ (if you watch MTV) but you could also, if possible, get one of your favorite musicians to play for your party…?
I didn’t exactly have a party, but last year I lucked out that my birthday happened to land on my favorite band’s concert date. They sang me happy birthday, and that alone completely made my life. So maybe getting that special person will make you feel extra special on your birthday, too.
I’m probably not much help, but go with your idea! It’s great.

How’s life in australia?
heeyyy i have a friend who is planning on moving to australia and she asked me to invesitagate a llittle bit about the place. She still doesn’t know exaactly where but shes guessing it would be either adelaide or canberra. Anybody that lives there or knows anythings about how the people are, what are the tipical things to do, how social life goes, parties, etc?
Adelaide is a great place to live & visit. Adelaide has the lowest cost of living of all the mainland state capitals.South Australia is currently in a strong economic period, outperforming all other Australian states. (see links below)

In Adelaide the Entertainment & arts are plentiful, great inexpensive food, café’s, heaps to do especially in Summer and Autumn, ease of accessibility which is a bonus to getaway to locations like the many small towns / villages in the surrounding hills, the nation’s best wine regions and the beaches (Adelaide’s metropolitan area has over 30KM’s of beaches, with wide beaches with calm waters in the far Northern costal historical suburbs, to the beautiful cliff lined beaches in the Southern suburbs, that have their own family and surf culture, with cosmopolitan Glenelg beach lying somewhere in the middle, which boasts countless, bars, restaurants, hotels (of international standards) and a marina), which makes the city pretty special. The climate’s pretty good, not much rain though, and can get pretty hot in late summer.
I personally most love the Adelaide’s vivid blue skies, the relaxed pace of life, the large range of restaurants including their affordability, hanging out & grabbing a bite to eat from China Town, strolling along North Terrace & Rundle Mall, Adelaide’s historic pubs, the Adelaide hill’s villages, the beaches, Adelaide’s location, the city’s layout, it’s ease of access esp. to the beach and the hills, it’s arts & festivals, especially the Fringe & Womad international music festival, the Tour Down under, the lack of rushing, queues etc!
I have included 2 links from a British emigration site, giving an overview of moving to and living in Adelaide, all the best with your friends move!

I need help on how to get bookings for my jewellery party plan business in ADELAIDE i am starting up!!!?
I have been making jewellery for the past nearly 3 years and i have been told by lots of people for quite some time that i should be doing party plan to sell my jewellery. I have finally got everything together in order for me to do this but now all i need is the bookings. I am also selling 100% genuine deisgner perfumes at my parties too.
I live in ADELAIDE and would like some ideas on how to promote my parties in order for me to get bookings.
All ideas would be greatly appreciated…
Or if you live in Adelaide are interested in holding a party of finding out more, let me know…
Thanks
I can only take orders for my perfumes, i wouldn’t be able to sell them on the night as there are 1000’s on my list to sell. All i will be able to do is have a pricelist that people can order from but as for the jewellery people can pay for it and take it home on the night. How do i get a manual slider for credit card payments? Would the bank give me one since i am new in business?
Start with friends and family and ask them to invite their friends, this usually get the ball rolling for party bookings. Hand outs and flyers , letter box drops. Word of mouth. Have games before the showing ( something like tupperware) to break the ice and get clients in the mood. Have testers for the perfumes. Are you selling on the night. Do you have a merchant facility to take credit cards – manual slider or a mobile eftpos terminal for all cards. If i were you I would start with a manual slider until business picks up. Having a merchant facility will benefit you to boost your sales.
Good luck. Go Girl
